Welcome to the
Jacob Crane Foundation

Jacob was bright and loving with a natural talent and passion for sports, excelling in cricket, rugby, and football. Known for his loving nature and exceptional dry humour, he was dearly loved by all who knew him.

Diagnosed with AML, a rare form of leukemia, just after his 16th birthday, Jacob displayed remarkable bravery over the next 20 months, facing his treatment challenges while still managing to bring laughter to those around him. After a brief period of remission, embraced with his characteristic zest for life, Jacob sadly passed away on May 7, 2024, with his father, Stephen, and mother, Jess, at his side.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Jacob received incredible support that not only provided joyful respite from his treatment but also allowed his parents to be continuously by his side at Cardiff’s Teenage Cancer unit. Inspired by the outpouring of support and love, Jacob’s family and friends have established the Jacob Crane Foundation in his honour. The foundation aims to support other children and young adults navigating the harrowing journey of a cancer diagnosis.

Jacob’s bravery and kindness were monumental, and through the Jacob Crane Foundation, his legacy of making a positive impact continues to thrive, offering support, love, and moments of joy to those who need it most.

Our purpose and mission

Our mission is to increase understanding and awareness of childhood cancers, helping children and young adults up to age 25, along with their families, as they confront the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

We are committed to not only raising awareness but also to fostering moments of joy and laughter amidst the adversity of diagnosis and treatment.

Inspired by Jacob, whose life was filled with laughter, love, and loyalty, we strive to continue his legacy through his foundation. Our goal is to be a steadfast source of support, positively impacting the lives of children and families affected by cancer.

Together, we will help them through their journey with compassion and care.
